Our school offers exceptional resources – including the district’s only onsite planetarium – all near beautiful Como Park. As a result, nature is a special focus for our school. Our community connects regularly with Belwin Outdoor Science, Bakken Museum, Children’s Museum, Big River Journey, Como Zoo, Starbase, and NASA Space Camp. Specialists in reading and math work with classroom teachers at each grade level to support learning, and most of our students achieve medium to high growth in reading and math. Specialists in science, social studies, and physical education enrich the core curriculum. Technology is integrated into learning throughout the day with the use of interactive white boards, computers, laptop carts and iPads.

Como Park Elementary:
Exceptional educators focused on acheivement, equity, and nurturing each individual child.
On May 19, 2015, Como Park Elementary received word that we were selected as one of the recipients of the United Way/Target Spotlight Schools initiative grant. The Greater Twin Cities United Way and Target have joined forces and awarded us $100,000 for the 2015-16 school year to continue our work of accelerating students and closing the acheivement gap. We are looking forward to using this gift to invest in technology and other teaching tools to increase student engagement in learning. We will also provide opportunities for our talented staff to continue to improve their teaching skills and become better equipped for teaching our wonderfully diverse group of students. We cannot thank the United Way and Target enough for this tremendous opportunity!
