Creating Lifelong Learners

School Profile

Our school offers exceptional resources – including the district’s only onsite planetarium – all near beautiful Como Park. As a result, nature is a special focus for our school. Our community connects regularly with Belwin Outdoor Science, Bakken Museum, Children’s Museum, Big River Journey, Como Zoo, Starbase, and NASA Space Camp. Specialists in reading and math work with classroom teachers at each grade level to support learning, and most of our students achieve medium to high growth in reading and math. Specialists in science, social studies, and physical education enrich the core curriculum. Technology is integrated into learning throughout the day with the use of interactive white boards, computers, laptop carts and iPads.

Facilities Master Planning Meetings

This winter and spring, each school in the district will be developing its own 10-year facilities master plan (FMP). The goal is to develop a vision for how our school can better serve the 21st century learning needs of students.

This planning is part of a larger process that SPPS is doing to develop a district-wide, 10-year Facilities Master Plan (FMP) to efficiently manage and improve the district’s 72 facilities, 7.3 million square feet of space, and 465 acres of land.
