Como Park Elementary Community-

I am honored to be the principal of Como Park Elementary. Seeing our students learn and grow, connecting and building relationships with families, and working together with our amazing staff is truly what brings me joy every day. 

Education:

Ms. Ewald graduated and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota. She earned her Educational Specialist degree and principal licensure from the University of St. Thomas.

Career:

Ms. Ewald has worked her entire career for the Saint Paul Public Schools. The 2024/2025 school year marks her 25th year of servicing the students of St. Paul. Ms. Ewald has taught multiple grade levels, served as both an academic and behavior coach, and was an assistant principal prior to becoming Como Park Elementary’s principal.

Family:

Ms. Ewald was raised in St. Paul. She attended Webster Elementary, Highland Park Middle school, and graduated from Highland Park High School. She continues to call St. Paul her home. She loves spending time with her daughter, family and friends.

I am humbled to be the assistant principal at Como Park Elementary. I aim for students to be lifelong learners who enjoy attending school every day.

Education:

Ms. Patel graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of St.Thomas. She then earned her Early Childhood Special Education and Elementary license through the University of Wisconsin—River Falls and her principal licensure from the University of Minnesota.

Career:

Ms.Patel started her career in Minneapolis Public Schools, then taught abroad in Zurich International Schools, and finally settled in Saint Paul Public Schools for the past 12 years. The 2024/2025 school year marks her 15th year in St. Paul. Ms.Patel has experience teaching PreK, Kindergarten, and special education. She has also served as an academic coach for teachers who are just starting their careers in Saint Paul Public Schools. 

Family:

Ms. Patel was raised in Woodbury, MN, and graduated from Woodbury Senior High School in 2003. She continues to live in St. Paul with her dog Nala. She enjoys exercising, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
