Special Education

At Como Park Elementary, Special Education & Related Services are provided as described by an Individual Education Program (IEP). IEP’s are developed based on identified needs established in a comprehensive educational evaluation. If you have questions about your student’s eligibility and/or current services provided, please contact their case manager and/or school administration.

As part of the SPPS special education service model, Como Park Elementary includes multiple special education classrooms for children, beginning at age 3, with significant impairment or disability.

Many students with IEPs continue to attend the majority of the day in the general education classroom, with specialized instruction and/or related services provided in small group or individual settings. Special education and general education teachers work together to create an inclusive environment for all our students with IEP’s.
