Ms. Pa Yia Thao

Pa Yia Thao started teaching for Saint Paul Public School in 2021. She received her Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Studies from North Central University and her Master's degree in Academic Behavioral Strategist from the University of St. Thomas. Ms. Pa Yia works with students in a self-contained special education classroom at Como Park Elementary. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a paraprofessional working with Pre-K students at Community of Peace Academy in Saint Paul. She also spent a summer teaching English, math and life skills to students in Uganda. 

Ms. Pa Yia grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Harding Senior High School. She loves teaching students and her passion is to help students with exceptionalities learn. Ms. Pa Yia is proud to be a part of the Como Park Elementary community and looks forward to another great school year.

Ms. Pa Yia enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games, being outside in nature and traveling.
